The study finds that 33% of all adult Indians engage in online gambling at least a couple of times a year. Most of them see gambling as nothing but a fun pastime, but many also claim other activities prevent them from enjoying gaming as much and often as they want.
Judging by the research, 25% of all active gamblers faced a number of challenges that might affect their security, such as data theft, unauthorized payments, fraud, and prevention of withdrawals.
50% of all participants are somewhat familiar with Indian gambling laws. The research concludes that online gambling is primarily prevalent among younger people. In Delhi and Maharashtra, the majority of the gambling crowd is constituted of people between 36 and 44. In Uttar Pradesh, gamblers are even younger, aged 26 to 35.
In Karnataka, players tend to be between 36 and 44. No matter where they come from, The most numerous players also play the most. On average, they spend 11 to 20 hours a week on gambling.
73.4% of gamblers are male, and most of them are based in Delhi (36.5%).
